Lirim Ziberi von der Union der Islamisch-Albanischen Zentren in Deutschland (UIAZD) ist neuer Sprecher des Koordinationsrates der Muslime (KRM). Damit übernimmt der Berliner turnusgemäß die Vertretung des obersten Gremiums der Muslime in Deutschland. Lirim Ziberi löst Burhan Kesici, Vorsitzender des Islamrats für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland, ab.

Ziberi dankt seinem Vorgänger und hält fest: „Die Pandemie gut zu überstehen, ist eine gesamtgesellschaftliche Aufgabe. Wir Muslime haben in der Vergangenheit Verantwortung übernommen und werden es auch in Zukunft tun.“

Zudem gratuliert der neue KRM-Sprecher allen Christinnen und Christen zum bevorstehenden Weihnachtsfest: „Meinen christlichen Mitbürgern wünsche ich trotz Lockdown und Kontaktbeschränkungen eine angenehme Weihnachtszeit“, so Ziberi.

Im Koordinationsrat der Muslime sind seit 2007 die größten islamischen Religionsgemeinschaften in Deutschland zusammengeschlossen. Diese sind die Türkisch-Islamische Union der Anstalt für Religion (DITIB), der Islamrat für die Bundesrepublik Deutschland, der Zentralrat der Muslime (ZMD) und der Verband der islamischen Kulturzentren (VIKZ). 2019 schlossen sich außerdem der Zentralrat der Marokkaner in Deutschland (ZRMD) und die Union der Islamischen Albanischen Zentren in Deutschland (UIAZD) dem KRM an.
